Subcontracts – Educational R&D Service Subcontracts
Subcontracts for Educational Research and Development collaborations may be submitted through the NMC with the approval of the NSEC/NMC Coordination Office. The subcontract must have an educational component and must provide a service to LANL. The subcontract must have well defined scope of work and deliverables. Subcontracts are not to be used for staff augmentation.
- LANL PI meets with NSEC/NMC Coordination Office Leader and Program Administrator– Determines if the scope of work meets subcontract criteria
- If scope of work meets subcontract criteria LANL PI may proceed
- LANL PI meets with NSEC/NMC Coordination Office Program Administrator
i. Discuss details of subcontract
ii. Funding sources
iii. Scope of Work
iv. Educational and R&D components
- LANL PI meets with NMC and completes NMC Task Request
- NMC sends a Task Request to NSEC/NMC Coordination Office for approval
- NSEC/NMC Coordination Office Program Administrator and the LANL PI develop a Subcontract
- NSEC/NMC Coordination Office Program Administrator submits subcontract to procurement and manages the NMC subcontract
- DIVA required if foreign nationals are hired
- LANL PI approves invoices in the LANL Invoice System charged against the subcontract and collects the deliverables as outlined in the subcontract
